Ocean Freight Operator - Requirements

• Experience in OCEAN working for a freight forwarder is essential
• Sound understanding of freight forwarding operations and logistics capabilities for ocean import & export
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to interact at all level
• Managing reports and providing clients with regular updates on costs, opportunities and contract performance
• Import documentation experience
• Customs clearance documentation experience would be advantageous

Ocean Freight Operator - Responsibilities

• Coordinate sea freight quotes and bookings from initial request through to final delivery, selecting the most suitable services and routes
• Source and review supplier rates from carriers, NVOCCs, co-loaders and overseas agents, ensuring accurate pricing and margins
• Arrange collections, book cargo, and monitor shipments through key milestones while keeping customers and internal teams informed
• Prepare and check shipping documentation, support import/export customs clearance, and issue booking confirmations or arrival notices when required
• Maintain accurate operational records, resolve service or supplier issues, and build strong relationships with carriers and overseas partners
