Deputy Nursery Room Leader – £29,000 per annum | 40 Hours per Week
Our client, a welcoming and well-established nursery, is currently seeking a Deputy Nursery Room Leader to support the day-to-day running of one of their vibrant rooms. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Level 3 childcare professional ready to take on more responsibility and help lead a passionate early years team.
As a Deputy Room Leader, you'll work closely with the Room Leader and wider nursery team to create a warm, engaging, and developmentally rich environment for children aged 0–5 years. You’ll support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework, while also mentoring junior staff and helping to maintain a high standard of care, safety, and learning in the room.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or equivalent)
- Experience working in a nursery or early years setting
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A caring, organised, and enthusiastic approach
- Experience in a senior or key person role is desirable
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Room Leader in the day-to-day running of the room
- Help lead and inspire a team of practitioners to deliver exceptional care and education
- Plan and implement fun, educational activities based on the EYFS
- Promote a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is supported to thrive
- Build strong, professional relationships with children, families, and staff
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, wellbeing, and progress
- Ensure that safeguarding, health & safety, and hygiene standards are always upheld
