Senior Site Agent - Major Water Infrastructure - AMP8 Projects
Site-based: Hertfordshire
Up to £68K + £4.5K Car Allowance + Bonus + Full Package
Permanent
Clear Route to Project & Senior Project Manager

If you're a Senior Site Agent with the leadership to own complex civils packages and the vision to help deliver critical national infrastructure, then this is your move.

One of the UK's most respected principal contractors is delivering a once-in-a-generation programme of AMP8 works for Thames Water. Backed by a £3.7bn order book and a reputation for excellence, they are now investing in their permanent leadership team to deliver high-value environmental infrastructure projects across multiple sites.

We're looking for Senior Site Agents to take charge of complex non-infrastructure wastewater schemes valued between £5-10m. If you're the kind of leader who thrives when managing multiple packages, coordinating teams, delivering high standards, and owning the process from technical resolution through to client handover—this is your moment.

What's in it for you?

As a Senior Site Agent, you can expect a salary of up to £68,000 plus a £4,500 car allowance. You'll benefit from 28 days of holiday in addition to 8 bank holidays, along with a pension scheme offering 4% employee and 5% employer contributions. Life assurance is also included, providing peace of mind for you and your family. You'll be joining a long-term framework that offers project security through to 2030. There is a clear opportunity to transition into Project or Senior Project Manager roles, or even into operational leadership. You'll also receive full training and upskilling aligned to Thames Water standards, within a forward-thinking environment that embraces new techniques, digital tools, and value engineering.

What you'll be doing:

As a Senior Site Agent, you'll be responsible for managing entire sections of complex civils works. Your role will be primarily site-based, with collaborative input at the office level. You'll oversee all aspects of health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ), manage risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), handle design changes, and ensure full CDM compliance. You will work closely with commercial teams to forecast and report costs effectively. The Senior Site Agent will deliver toolbox talks, conduct site audits, and maintain comprehensive site diaries. You'll liaise directly with key stakeholders, clients, and internal project managers to maintain progress and performance. A major part of your role will involve driving innovation, mentoring site teams, and continuously improving on-site delivery.

✅ What you'll need:

To succeed as a Senior Site Agent, you'll need an HNC or higher in Civil Engineering. Additional qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS (Engineering/Management), and First Aid are desirable. You should have a strong understanding of NEC contracts and substantial experience working on civil engineering projects, ideally in the water or highways sectors. Familiarity with CAD and Office 365 is essential, and TWC experience would be advantageous. Most importantly, you'll bring the leadership skills to inspire and manage on-site delivery teams while maintaining high standards across the board.

This is more than just a job—it's a long-term career opportunity at a top-tier business that values technical excellence, strong leadership, and sustainable development.

I'm personally managing this search on behalf of an exceptional organisation and am seeking exceptional people ready to step up and help shape the future of UK water infrastructure.
