We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to work and be part of a very ambitious and forward-thinking UK Manufacturer, based in Hertfordshire (near Hertford). This is a full-time permanent position offering a generous salary of £35,000-£45,000 per year depending on experience. The working hours are 7.30am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday but this may be negotiable. Ideally based full time at head office but hybrid will be considered.

Roles & Responsibilities

* Understand customer briefs, drawings and specifications.

* Identify and apply relevant UK regulations, best practice guidance and product knowledge.

* Produce clear and accurate designs and proposals within required time scales.

* Communicate confidently with customers, clients and internal team members.

* Ensure all work reflects the requirement for design excellence and technical quality.

* Build strong working relationships.

Requirements

* Qualification in Lighting design, Architecture, interior design or similar discipline.

* Proficiency in Relux, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

* Dialux skills are welcome but not essential.

* Ability to read 2D architectural drawings.

* At least 2/3 years' professional experience in the lighting sector.

* Proven track record of managing high customer expectations and delivering results under time pressure.

* Solid technical understanding of lighting principles.

* Confident communicator who is organised and with the ability to juggle multiple live projects

* Attention to detail with numerical skills to manage projects and specifications.

* Enthusiastic about technical detail and capable of absorbing complex information.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
