Role Overview

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for the upkeep and servicing of all machinery and technical equipment on site, as well as overseeing the facilities and grounds. This is a hands-on role with a clear pathway to team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records
Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with site procedures
Respond swiftly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
Install and commission new equipment
Liaise with contractors and ensure safety protocols are followed
Maintain spare parts inventory and procurement
Fault-find and resolve electrical/mechanical issues
Support continuous improvement and performance targets
Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

Completed apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical discipline
Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)

Skills & Experience

Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings
Proven fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems
Experience in automotive manufacturing (desirable)
Sewing machine maintenance experience (desirable)
IT literate, especially with Microsoft Office
Strong literacy and numeracy skills
Experience in jig/tool design and manufacture (desirable)
Minimum 5 years in a maintenance/facilities role (desirable)
IPAF 3a/3b qualification (desirable)
