Activus Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Estimator to complement our client's commercial team in Oldmeldrum. The successful candidate will be ambitious and driven with a desire to learn all aspects of estimating and the construction industry.

The Role:

Estimators calculate how much it costs to supply products or services to a client before building works can start.

The successful candidate will learn the following:

* Reading construction drawings and specifications

* Take-off material quantities from drawings.

* Compiling bills of quantities

* Obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors

* Calculating costs for labour, plant and materials.

* Preparation and submission of tenders

* Maintaining records of up to date prices

* Liaising with clients

* Business Generation

* Using specialised software for preparation of tenders

* Administration of all paperwork associated with estimating

Personal Requirements:

* High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail

* Good numerical skills

* A team player who can also work under minimum supervision

* Basic understanding of reading drawings would be advantageous

* Enthusiastic with a desire to learn

* Computer literate

* Driving Licence

Qualifications and Training:
