Our client is one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplined design consultants, who specialise in complex infrastructure and built environment projects. They deliver projects from cradle-to-grave for clients across the transportation, energy, life sciences and nuclear sectors. Leading UK engineering design consultant is seeking an Associate Director to lead their regional Civil Structural team, based within their Warwick office. Roles and Responsibilities: As the Associate Director you will ensure regional CS team performance meets overall business objectives commercially and technically.Principal responsibilities and accountabilities will include: Generate and secure engineering design commissions for Baker Hicks in Local Regional Office Use existing client, developer, architect, project manager contacts to generate work winning opportunities (especially in the Building Structure Sector). Assist the UK Director for Civil Structural Engineering and the Business Development Sector Directors in promoting brand as a market leading engineering consultant. Contribute to the development and growth of UK-wide Civil Structural Engineering Department, actively participating in the Department Management Team Meetings and decision-making. Day-to-day management of the CS team Help develop the department to meet business objectives Lead CS design delivery across multiple projects, in single- or multi- discipline teams Implement ‘Perfect Delivery’ Lead tender preparation for projects of all sizes, including fee estimates Lead multi-disciplinary design teams where required Carry out technical design reviews / critiques of projects in progress A technical authority on civil and structural design Be open to and encourage innovation and sustainability Mentor, train and develop junior engineers, particularly with reference to ICE training agreements Develop capabilities of all members of the CS team Motivate individuals to maximise performance Person Specification: Chartered Civil/ Structural Engineer CEng MICE/ MIStructE Appropriate depth and breadth of experience Full Clean Current UK Driving Licence Conversant with current CS design codes standards Experienced in discharging responsibilities under CDM and health and safety regulations Comprehensive and current knowledge base of all aspects of civil and structural design Experience of major projects delivery (ideally within transportation, pharmaceutical or nuclear engineering sectors) Proven ability to work within a fully integrated, multi-discipline design team Rewards: Our client offers market leading salary packages, which includes an individualised performance-related reward scheme.In addition they offer excellent contributory pension plans and a life assurance and staff discount schemes (e.g. mobile phones; home improvements, etc).They also appreciate that juggling work commitments and family life is a challenge for everyone – that’s why they offer enhanced maternity and paternity benefits, as well as childcare vouchers and a great holiday allowance.
