Exciting Opportunity for an English Functional Skills Teacher 🌟

Role Overview:
This is a Permanent position starting September 2025 and this will be a full-time position. You will be paid to scale and is dependent on qualifications and experience.

Tradewind are working with a PRU school who are looking to appoint a Functional Skills Teacher / HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to work with their KS4 students at our site in Gloucester. This will focus primarily on the delivery of English Functional Skills to KS4 students.

As a HLTA (Higher-Level Teaching Assistant), you will play a pivotal role in supporting the education and well-being of our students. Your responsibilities will include assisting children with SEN / SEMH, providing essential support to teachers, and leading classes when the teacher is unavailable.

Key Duties:

SEND Support: Work closely with students who require additional assistance, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Classroom Leadership: Take charge of lessons in the absence of the teacher, ensuring a seamless continuation of the curriculum.

Curriculum Assistance: Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver tailored support and interventions, fostering individualized learning experiences.

Behaviour Management: Contribute to maintaining a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere, employing effective behaviour management strategies.

Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow educators, parents, and external professionals to ensure the holistic development of each child.
