Trainee Regulatory Reporting and Management Accountant

This role is part of the financial and regulatory reporting team, reporting to the Senior Regulatory Reporting Accountant. This is a small team and the ability/willingness to get fully involved in all aspects of financial and regulatory reporting to get the job done is essential.

* Based in Epsom

* £25,000 (plus discretionary bonus)

* 25 days holiday (rising to 28 days with service) + bank holidays

* Hybrid; 2 days office 3 days WFH (after training, approx. 2-4 weeks)

* Monday to Friday - 9.00 am - 5.30 pm

* Study support (AAT or similar)

Regulatory Reporting

* Assist in the preparation of quarterly/monthly returns for review

* Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of the regulatory reporting processes, software and excel files ensuring they are kept fully up to date with regulatory reporting changes and remain fit for purpose.

* Assist in ensuring procedures, assumptions and interpretations of regulatory reporting rules and guidance are fully documented and kept up to date

Management Accounting

* Assist in the preparation of month end management accounts and Board reports

* Assist in the preparation of reports for other departments.

* Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of processes, software and spreadsheets where necessary to account for changes in regulation or process changes.

* Preparation of ad hoc analysis for the Financial Accounting Manager and Finance team as required.

* Assist with preparing the Annual Report and Accounts, Corporation Tax Return.

* Assist with the preparation of the quarterly VAT return.

General

* Assist in project work

* Assist in the liaison with internal audit, risk and compliance during periodic reviews

* Assist other departments with queries as required.

* Carry out routine administrative tasks, maintain required training and compliance, follow internal processes for leave and absence and undertake any other reasonable duties needed to support day-to-day operations.

Key skills and experience

* Excellent and demonstrable analytical and numerical skills. Able to deal with large data sets

* High levels of accuracy and attention to detail

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* The ability to work to strict deadlines

* Advanced use of MS Excel required (Lookups/Sumifs)

* Comfortable dealing with individuals across levels of seniority

* Ability to adapt to, and help drive, process change
