Procurement Assurance Co-Ordinator
Location: Birmingham (2 days per week in office)
Rate: £350-£400 per day (inside IR35)
Contract Length: 3-6 months
The Role
We are seeking an organised, confident, and detail-driven Procurement Assurance Co-Ordinator to manage the Procurement Assurance process within my client's commercial procurement team. This is a fast-paced, high-profile role at the heart of procurement governance and decision-making. You will ensure robust assurance, transparency, and accountability across procurement activity, while providing high-quality secretariat support to senior meetings and boards.You will work closely with senior stakeholders, manage multiple competing priorities, and play a key role in continuously improving governance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of the Procurement Assurance function, ensuring governance processes are robust, transparent, and consistently applied.
- Process and manage multiple daily procurement assurance requests efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain governance registers, policies, and decision records, ensuring timely reviews, approvals, and audit-ready documentation
- Provide end-to-end secretariat support for procurement governance meetings, including agendas, papers, minutes, decision reports, and action tracking
- Produce clear and accurate Decision Reports within 24 hours of meetings
- Act as a key link between the Assurance Team and CPS Operations, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and promote consistent understanding of governance requirements
- Identify and drive continuous improvement, including opportunities for automation and process streamlining
- Provide governance and secretariat support to other senior boards and working groups as required
About You
You will bring:
- Experience in governance and/or assurance, or secretariat support within a complex organisation
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Strong written communication skills, including producing high-quality minutes and decision records
- High levels of attention to detail, integrity, and discretion
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing ways of working
- A proactive, improvement-focused mindset
