We are working on behalf of a well-established and rapidly growing groundworks and civil engineering contractor, delivering high-quality services across residential, commercial, and industrial projects throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and project demand, they are now looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Estimator to join their dynamic team.

Role Overview

As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the tendering process, working closely with our project managers and directors to price and secure groundwork packages. You'll be responsible for analysing drawings and specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and contributing to successful bid submissions.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for groundwork projects including site clearance, foundations, drainage, roads, and infrastructure.

*

Analyse project drawings, specifications, and technical documents to understand project scope and requirements.

*

Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing.

*

Prepare bills of quantities and material take-offs.

*

Evaluate and manage risk within project estimates.

*

Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings where required.

*

Work collaboratively with the commercial and delivery teams to support cost-effective project delivery.

*

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and pricing trends.

Requirements

*

Proven experience as an Estimator in the groundworks or civil engineering industry.

*

Strong knowledge of UK construction methods, materials, and regulations.

*

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

*

Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

*

Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

*

Strong communication and negotiation abilities.

*

Full UK driving licence preferred.
