Basic Salary £40,000, OTE £61,000 + car allowance + great benefits

Home based, location flexible in the UK

My client is a niche provider of hardware and software used for temperature and environmental monitoring systems within laboratories and clean rooms. Their products are used within the NHS, private sector and life sciences organisations to monitor temperature but also humidity, oxygen depletion and CO2 levels in environments such as blood banks, research facilities and fertility clinics. They are looking for someone in a new business development role, covering mainland UK to sell into both public and private sector clients. Full training on products and solutions will be provided, we're looking for someone with great new business skills who ideally has either experience with public sector tenders or has previously sold into the life sciences sector. The Role:

This is a 100% new business sales role, selling their temperature and environmental control systems into the NHS (blood storage, pharmacy labs etc), some private hospitals and life sciences companies. It's a mix of software and hardware as well as ongoing maintenance contracts.
It's a national role where you'll work from home with meetings at the north west head office every 2 weeks.
Most NHS business comes through a tender process so lead times can be quite long for that business. The private sector clinics and life sciences are much quicker so ideally there will be a balance across those key sectors.
Average order values could be £3k up to an average of £30k for NHS trusts.
You'll be visiting customers out on the road and also attending a number of trade shows throughout the year so there will be a need to stay away from home some of the time.
The Person:

We're looking for someone with really good new business sales skills who can identify target clients and generate appointments themselves.
Ideally you'll have some experience of public sector bids and tenders, but this isn't absolutely essential. Alternatively, experience selling into life sciences would be a great benefit but we're happy to hear from really structured new business professionals from other backgrounds too.
Whilst location is flexible in the UK as it's home based, you'll need to be able to get to the north west office once a fortnight so someone near the motorway network would be ideal.
Fantastic communication skills are a must, and you'll be comfortable using a CRM system and managing a sales pipeline.
A full UK driving license is required with no more than 6 endorsement points.The Package:

Basic salary up to £40k
Car allowance of £5k plus mileage allowance
OTE is £21k on top of salary but this is uncapped.
25 days holiday rising by a day per year up to 30 days.
