Job Description

Position Summary:

The Operations Analyst reports directly to the Quality and Process Improvement Manager. The Operations Analyst will assist with the building, maintenance and updating of 32BJ Health Fund tools and system as needed. He/she will ensure that tools and systems are responsive to changing business needs, able to support the implementation of special projects, assist with tracking Health Services tasks, and manage workflows. The Operations Analyst will utilize data analysis and statistical software to develop queries and manage data flow with the Health Services Unit. The Operations Analyst will also assist with the management of Health Fund programs. Internal contacts include, but are not limited to the Health Fund staff, Member Services staff and other Benefit Fund staff. External contacts include, but are not limited to the 32BJ union members and their families, physicians and their office staff, other health care providers and the Third Party Administrator. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, adjustment, and maintenance of Health Fund tools and systems
  • Develop improvements in Health Services tools and systems based on business needs
  • Create reports to assist in management of Health Fund projects and programs
  • Gather and manage data specific to staff productivity and create reports and dashboards
  • Manage recruitment and follow up listings for Health Services wellness program through the use of claims data analysis
  • Develop member queries using claims data based on business needs
  • Converting data information into usable formats using statistical software
  • Ensure that all data related to all Health Fund programs including locations, hours, specialist available, etc. is updated on a regular basis
  • Assist with testing applications as needed

Qualifications:  

To perform the job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required.

  • Build, adjust, and maintain Microsoft databases such as Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Access
  • Able to transform large data sets into usable data formats
  • Organize and present large quantities of shifting data to analyze and display thorough analysis solution tools such as Qlikview or Tableau
  • Manage processes designated to him/her to achieve successful outcomes
  • Must be well-organized, logical and able to function in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritizes appropriately in order to meet goals and objective of the department

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proficient in Structure Query Language (SQL), MS Office
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform preferred
  • Experience with analyzing large data set preferred
  • Experience within health care or the health insurance industry a plus

Education:

  • BA, BS or Associates Degree or 2+ years' experience in building databases
