Job Role: Senior Tax Manager

£500-£700 per day
Working Period: Monday - Friday
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
About The Role:
Job Summary DEFRA is the UK government department responsible for safeguarding our natural environment, supporting our world-leading food and farming industry, and sustaining a thriving rural economy.
The tax team is part of the wider Compliance and Financial Accounting Team, who lead on preparation of accounts for Defra's ALBs, Core Defra and the Defra group Annual Report and Accounts.
About The Candidate (specialist skills & requirements):
* A strong technical background with extensive knowledge of tax, particularly IR35 and taxable benefits, and the ability to interpret and apply tax legislation and guidance effectively.
* Confident and proficient in IT, with the ability to use digital tools to support high‑quality work.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and manage relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience leading and supporting a geographically dispersed team.
* Qualifications An experienced tax professional and/or qualified with CTA, CCAB or ATT.
