The role is based at the University of Gloucestershire and located over three campuses, two in Cheltenham and one in Gloucester.

Please note that the prospective Security Officer must have acquired the full SIA licence before being able to start work on operational shifts.

throughout each shift, whilst remaining alert to security issues and keeping everyone safe.
On a day to day basis you will be working alongside a well supported group of Security Officers ensuring all campuses are a fun, vibranct and safe place for all to enjoy.
No two days are the same as you liaise with departments such as University Management, the Accomodation team, Facilities Management and Welfare.
You will be part of the team responsible in supporting all three of the campus sites so you must be able to commute to all of these when required at short notice dependant on the shift.
You will also benefit from a subsidiased canteen and onsite free parking.
The main duties and responsibilities as a Security Officer are to prevent and deter unauthorised access to the University and monitor fire alarms, provide excellent customer service to students and visitors and monitorCCTV as appropriate.
You will be conducting external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions and oversee traffic controls and apply parking restrictions as required.
You will be carrying out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate and managing keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
You will be esuring all health and safety procedures are followed at all times and record and report all faults, health and safety hazards and unsafe working practices to supervisor/manager whilst reporting / recording all accidents in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
There is an element of loss and waste prevention where you will be reporting any instances of property being lost, stolen, damaged and/or vandalised.
During all duties you will display the highest standard of personal presentation and smartness of uniform to maintain the image of Securitas and the customer.

Essential Skills Must have an current SIA Licence Must have a Clean Driving Licence (mobile vehical on campus) Must be able to provide a 5 year Work and housing checkable history To work with us you will need to be confident, articulate and communicate well both orally and in written language.
You will need to be able to get to different sites as required, so either have your own transport or be in an area with good public transport links.
Our team need to be immaculately turned out, polite and proactive when engaging with customers to ensure a complete customer experience is provided, as we aim to maintain our outstanding reputation for excellence.
Desirable Skills CCTV - You can obtain this with training by us if you do not have this.
