Akeva Safety Solutions Ltd is a health and safety consultancy working with a number of small and medium sized companies mainly in the construction industry but with some in other industries too.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a full-time home-based Health and Safety Consultant to join our small team, reporting to our Office in Cambridgeshire. In return you will earn a competitive salary of £36,000 - £49,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
We work closely with our customers in the development and implementation of safety management systems including: developing policies and procedures, carrying out risk assessments, fire risk assessments, audits and inspections, delivering training etc.
Your duties as Health and Safety Consultant will be to offer advice to our customers on all matters of health and safety and will include:
- Carrying out workplace inspections and audits.
- Carrying out company audits.
- Assisting with the carrying out of risk assessments and subsequent development of safe systems of work.
- Carrying out fire risk assessments
- Carrying out accident investigations.
- The running of various training courses.
- Assist with the development of safety management systems.
- Reviewing of policies and procedures.
- Advising on new and upcoming changes in legislation and discussing means of compliance to suit individual customer needs.
- All other aspects expected of an experienced consultant.
The ideal candidate we are looking for to join us as a Health and Safety Consultant is an experienced health and safety practitioner who is CMIOSH, or working towards it. Candidates will ideally be based between Peterborough and London.
You musthave a minimum of aNEBOSH General / Construction Certificate or NEBOSH Diplomaand prepared to travel generally around East Anglia, London and the South East, although sometimes further afield.
Other qualifications and skills that would be beneficial as Health and Safety Consultant include:
- A fire management / risk assessment qualification (NEBOSH, FPA, CFPA)
- PTLLS
- Ability to teach all or some of the following subjects: safety awareness, manual handling, abrasive wheels, risk assessments, ladder restraint, roof-top safety, CAT and Genny, harness safety.
All candidates must have a clean driving license and own car, be experienced using Microsoft office, a good communicator and, preferably, experienced in the delivery of training courses.
