Our Water innovation client is recruiting for a Business Development Manager or Head of Business Development in the Water Sector covering the UK with a base in Burntwood.

The role will be primarily based in either UK or Ireland with travel to potential client in both of these countries and potential other countries over time.

The Business Development Manager/Head of BD will report to the General Manager or as directed by the Group Managing Director. They will be responsible for leading and managing Business Development and Sales for the business as it expands and. The incumbent will also be responsible for the expansion of the business through creating greater sales, generating sustainable profits and ensuring the design of a definitive product offering.

Responsibilities

Leading the expansion of the company by generating sales in UK, Ireland and globally. The Head of BD/Business Development Manager shall generate a business development and sales strategy for company to be reviewed and implemented annually.
Work with the Marketing team to produce a matching marketing plan to ensure the success of the sales plan.
Develop relationships with supply chain partners (products/services) and customers.
Keep informed of emerging industry trends in technology.
Supervise, lead and mentor staff as required.
Work with the groups Design and Delivery Departments to ensure that products are incorporated into all business projects.
Work with the Commercial Dept to help manage budget, project commercials and ensuring profitability.
Attendance at Engineering Dept meetings, progress meetings and other meetings as required. Production of monthly sales status reports as required.
Travel and attendance at foreign and domestic conferences and tradeshows.
Other duties as required from time to time and specified by the General Manager.

Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business/ Engineering /Science, plus suitable experience.
Strong understanding of the regulatory aspects within the water and wastewater industry.
Experience working within the UK Water Sector
Proven track record in delivering sales & profits.
Commercial awareness.
Experience in generating sales or growing businesses.
Ability to work on multiple assignments.
Effective time management and communication skills.
Excellent oral and written reporting skills.
Good understanding of quality, environmental and safety management systems.
Good people skills & a team player.
Full Clean UK/Irish Driving licence
