Job Title: Electronics Design Engineer

Purpose of the Electronics Design Engineer role: To develop software and features of both existing & new product.

Powerstar are now looking for an electronic design engineer to work in a small team environment developing hardware and firmware for our existing and new products. The candidate must have a good understanding of power electronics and software languages.

Electronics Design Engineer Main Duties & Responsibilities

Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems (Microchip) for Energy Systems, especially for transformers from requirements to production and commercial deployment
Building and testing PCB prototypes including soldering components
PCB design for the control circuit for Energy Systems
Design, develop, code, test and debug system both software and hardware
Review code and design
Integrate and validate new product designs as well as hardware design and development
Support software QA and optimize I/O performance
Provide post production support

Minimum of 5 years design experience in an industrial environment
Proven working experience in software and or power electronic engineering.
Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets as well as PCB design
Solid programming experience in C or C++
Solid experience in PCB design via mentor pads and Altium designer
Proven experience in embedded systems design with pre-emptive, multitasking real-time operating systems
Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review
Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
