Pure are delighted to be partnering with our Bury St Edmunds-based client, who are seeking a Design Engineer to join their team to design screening and sorting machinery for the recycling industry.This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate, as you will see your designs from concept, through design and manufacturing to installation and commissioning. You will also be working for a growing and innovative company who designs and manufactures all of their equipment here in the UK, and each plant is tailored to suit the customers individual requirements.Reporting into the Design Manager, your duties would include;
  • Design recycling/processing plants and detail them to individual component level, using Autodesk Inventor, or an equivalent 3D design package.
  • Produce full parts drawings, BOMs and assembly drawings for the Production Team
  • Complete site surveys where necessary, working closely with customers to offer technical solutions and recommendations.
  • Work with customers to design and develop innovative new products for the recycling industry.
  • Work with suppliers to determine best materials and solutions
  • Project Management opportunities. You will have the opportunity to oversee projects from concept to installation and commissioning, working with the customers, sales and manufacturing teams on some challenging projects.
The ideal applicant will possess the following;
  • HNC/HND/Degree qualified from a Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Experience of Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D package
  • Detail conscious, with a creative approach to problem solving.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to run multiple projects in parallel
  • Excellent communication skills, with customers, suppliers and colleagues
  • A practical approach, and willing to get your hands dirty when required. (An Engineering background, or at least an interest would be advantageous and would enable you to be more involved in the full project cycle)
  • Ideally experience in a similar field preferred, e.g. conveyors, structural engineering etc.
