Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Thatcham - Newbury

Salary: £50,000 per annum

Shifts: Panama (2 on 3 off, 3 on 2 off), rotating Days & Nights (12-hour shifts)

We're currently recruiting experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to join a fast-growing, highly reputable manufacturing business in the Thatcham - Newbury area. You'll be part of a supportive, hands-on team that values quality maintenance, continuous improvement, and keeping production running efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing:

Performing planned and preventative maintenance on machinery and mechanical systems

Diagnosing and repairing faults on conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and related components

Supporting breakdown response and root cause analysis to minimise downtime

Working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical awareness where required

Collaborating with a proactive, team-focused maintenance department

What We're Looking For:

NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or similar mechanical qualification)

Proven hands-on experience in a manufacturing or FMCG setting

Solid mechanical fault-finding and repair skills

Experience working on gearboxes, belts, bearings, valves, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems

A motivated, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt
