Salary: £55000 - £65000 / annually

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Regional Health and Safety Manager to join one of the UK's most recognised names in Infrastructure and Civil Engineering. Leading in the delivery of a national Health, Safety and Wellbeing programme, the suitable candidate will look to build a strong and positive Health and Safety culture through innovation and influence. The ideal candidate will be based in South East region and be happy travelling in a region that will cover, London, South East and across to the South West. The Health and Safety Manager will lead a team and be tasked with developing and implementing the strategy across the region as well as sitting in the regional SLT (Senior Leadership Team), having regular interaction with stakeholders at a board level. 

The Role:

  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and deliver the Health and Safety strategy
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders within the organisation 
  • Monitor and review Health and Safety trends within the division to identify areas of improvement 
  • Develop and improve Health and Safety culture across the organisation 
  • Liaise with the HSE and other regulators when required
  • Manage 3rd parties and build strong relationships 
  • Support on incident and accident investigation when required and be able to recognise lessons learnt 

The Candidate:

  • 5 years + experience working in Health and Safety 
  • NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ/NCRQ equivalent
  • Grad IOSH status as a minimum, working towards CMIOSH 
  • Previous experience working in a strategic position within Health and Safety 
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and members of the board 
  • Experience working in the Infrastructure sector 
  • Experience leading a team of Health and Safety professionals would be preferred
  • Knowledge of CDM would be beneficial but not essential
