Senior Quantity Surveyor

A brilliant opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with Department of Education (DfE) experience looking to advance your career with this Tier 1 contractor delivering new build, design and build and refurbishment solutions to both the public and private sector throughout the South-East.

About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor

You will manage the commercial resources of the assigned project to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts.
To assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement our clients policies for risk management.
To support the authorisation and submission of project variations.
To authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders.
To maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers.The responsibilities of a Senior Quantity Surveyor

Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team. Help ensure that business targets and KPI's are exceeded
Preparation of monthly cost / value reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
Production of commercial reports together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors
Agreement of certification and payment of subcontractor accounts - monitoring of such accounts against forecastsRequirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor

BSc or HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying preferred
Ability to work on site where necessary
Awareness and experience of construction methods, technology, standard forms of measurement and forms of contract, and health and safety requirements What we offer for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role
