We are supporting a boarding school in Dunblane, Scotland, with the recruitment of an experienced School Nurse to join their dedicated medical and pastoral care team. This is a unique opportunity to work within a 100% boarding environment supporting young people aged 11–18 from military families.

This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about safeguarding, wellbeing, and providing high-quality medical care within an educational setting.

The Role

As School Nurse, you will be at the heart of the school’s health and wellbeing provision. Working closely with pastoral, boarding, and academic staff, you will ensure students receive safe, effective, and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to students aged 11–18
• Deliver first aid, routine medical support, and administer medications
• Manage medical records and ensure compliance with safeguarding standards
• Monitor student health, responding to both day-to-day and emergency needs
• Liaise with external healthcare professionals and parents/guardians
• Support health education and wellbeing initiatives across the school
• Contribute to the residential medical rota as required
• Work collaboratively within the wider pastoral and boarding community

About You

We are looking for individuals with:

• Registered Nurse (RGN / RSCN) qualification
• Experience in school nursing, A&E, paediatrics, military medical, or similar settings
• A calm, compassionate, and professional approach
• Strong communication and safeguarding awareness
• Confidence working independently within a residential school environment
• Willingness to live on-site if required (subsidised accommodation available)
