Salary: £27.94 - £30.24

  1. To ensure that the service provided by the Occupational Therapy service is of a consistently high standard, meets the needs of a diverse communities and the standards of professional practice and performance in all areas of performance.

  1. To monitor budgets in accordance with financial regulations, policies and procedures.

  1. To work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure services are delivered with an emphasis on supporting neighbourhood working.

  1. To deliver change and improvement in accordance with priorities, projects and programmes of the Council.

  1. Responsible for the development of self and the team including Occupational Therapy under graduate and post graduate students on placements to the service.

  1. To advise and assist senior managers in the development of strategies and planning consistent with the priorities of the Council.

  1. To work in partnership with or as part of an integrated team of allied health and social care professionals.

  1. Responsible for the management of staff and resources in the Occupational Therapy service. Provide effective leadership, management support and guidance and ensure effective supervision occurs in accordance with Liverpool City Council Procedures.

  1. To work with Liverpool City Council in-house hub services regarding the development of enablement within the hubs and discharge to assessment teams.

  1. Responsible for the development of Occupational Therapy assessment functions within Careline.

  1. To manage the recruitment and selection of staff to the Occupational Therapy Service in accordance with Liverpool City Council Fair Selection and Recruitment policy.

  1. Ensure the work of Occupational Therapy Service complies with statutory duties and requirements.

  1. Ensure the quality and standards of professional practice and performance in the team. Monitor and review the performance management frameworks in the team and lead and monitor the use of appraisals, supervisions and quality assurances.

  1. Efficiently and effectively deploy and control the use of resources ensuring the services are customer focussed and outcome driven.

  1. To deal with complaints, grievances and carry out disciplinary investigations as required.

  1. Maintain positive links with all statutory, voluntary, and independent providers of services to ensure the timely provision of assessment, adaptations and the delivery of equipment.

  1. Responsible for the allocation of cases and professional work within the team.

  1. There may be a requirement to deliver integrated services with Health and where there is a demonstrable need due to the council’s legal duties under the Care Act 2014, to work within a seven-day or 8am to 8 pm service

  1. Availability / requirement to work from any location within the city boundary and to conform to the standards and working practices of each location utilised by the service.
