We are recruiting a Support Worker to join our lovely team on a full-time, permanent basis to help and support a gentleman in his 70’s with an acquired brain injury in the Hexham area. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £11.44 per hour.

We offer a bespoke Case Management Service for people of all ages, with a particular emphasis on those recovering from acquired brain injuries. We have a reputation for taking on the more complex cases, and constantly strive to provide the most efficient and effective service possible.

Ultimately our aim is to empower and support people to reach their full potential and maximize their rehabilitation opportunities in order to promote the best quality of life.

Working hours:

28 waking hours per week - £11.44 per hour.

The role includes 24 hour shifts including sleeping nights which are in addition to the hours stated above. This equates to 4 x 24 hour shifts per fortnight (including sleepovers). A rolling rota system is in place, therefore shift requirements are planned well in advance but can be swapped where required.

The Support Worker Role:

A support worker is required to join an existing, well established 24/7 team for a gentleman in his 70’s with an acquired brain injury in the Hexham area. The client has cognitive problems and some challenging behaviours following a road traffic accident, he requires 1;1 support and supervision at all times in his own home and the local community.

The care plan aims to maximise the client’s quality of life, by facilitating engagement in activities of daily living and providing reassurance and encouragement.

What we are looking for in our Support Worker:

  • The role requires assistance with personal care tasks.
  • Applicants should be reliable, patient and have excellent communication and observational skills.
  • Previous experience working with clients with brain injury is preferable.
  • Driver with full UK driving license essential as the client has his own car for the team to take him out in.
  • Successful applicants will receive full support, training and supervision from the established support team and Case Manager.
