Finance Controller – Financial Planning

£60,000 (Fully negotiable)
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a growing financial services business in a broad and influential Finance Controller role. Based in Maidenhead with hybrid working (2–3 days per week in the office), this position offers excellent scope to shape financial processes, enhance reporting quality, and support future growth.
About the Role As Finance Controller, you will report to the Operations Director and take full ownership of financial reporting, controls, payroll, regulatory oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with central finance teams while supporting the integration of new acquisitions and driving high-quality management information across the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver accurate monthly management accounts within Group timelines, including balance sheet reviews and variance analysis
• Produce P&L statements, cash flow forecasts, and insightful financial commentary to guide business decisions
• Oversee and support the development of finance administrative staff
• Maintain reconciliations of all balance sheet control accounts and ensure alignment with the CURO back-office system
• Conduct regular data integrity and quality checks across all financial information
• Support onboarding of acquired businesses and ensure accurate revenue recognition and reconciliation
• Manage payroll, adviser bonuses, expenses, and wider hub-level costs
• Monitor and fulfil FCA reporting requirements and other statutory responsibilities
• Provide financial modelling and evaluation for new initiatives, partnerships, and M&A activity
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting, identifying risks and opportunities for cost optimisation
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors and manage audit processes end-to-end
What We’re Looking For
• Accounting qualification desirable (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience within the financial services industry preferable
• Advanced Excel skills and strong experience using financial systems (NetSuite and CURO ideal)
• Highly analytical with strong problem-solving capability
• Digital-first mindset with the ability to drive process and system improvements
