Room Leader – Baby Room

Salary: From £34,000 (depending on experience)
Full-time | Must be available to work Fridays

Are you an experienced Room Leader ready to take the next step in your early years career? A well-established Montessori-inspired nursery is looking for a passionate and dedicated early years professional to lead their 0–2 room while supporting the smooth running of all age groups across the setting.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a nurturing and forward-thinking environment. As well as leading the baby room, you’ll play a key role across the nursery—guiding staff, shaping practice, and ensuring every child receives the best start in life.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

• A minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or equivalent)
• Substantial experience as a Room Leader in a medium or large nursery setting
• Proven ability to manage and motivate staff members
• A genuine passion for child development and inclusive practice
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A flexible, team-oriented attitude – must be available to work on Fridays

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the 0–2 room with warmth, professionalism, and structure
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of all nursery rooms, supporting room leaders and practitioners
• Support staff supervision, mentoring, and development
• Ensure compliance with EYFS standards and safeguarding procedures
• Foster strong partnerships with families and external agencies
• Contribute to planning, observations, and the development of engaging learning experiences
• Step into management duties in the absence of the Nursery Manager
