GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic school team in Southampton. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students who require tailored assistance to reach their full potential, both academically and personally.

What We're Looking For:

A caring and resilient individual with a passion for working with children with Special Educational Needs.

Someone with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training is preferred - but dedication and the right attitude are key.

University students are encouraged to apply.

A good understanding of various SEN conditions.

Role Highlights:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN.

Assist in delivering tailored learning strategies based on individual needs.

Encourage student confidence, independence, and lesson engagement.

Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to implement personalised learning plans.

Support students with emotional regulation, communication, and social development.

Help manage behaviour and create a positive, inclusive environment.

Ideal Candidate Will Be:

Empathetic, consistent, and nurturing.

Passionate about creating inclusive learning spaces.

Comfortable working with students with Autism, behavioural needs, and other SEN profiles.

DBS checked and registered on the update service (or willing to apply for one).

Knowledgeable of safeguarding and child protection requirements.
