Senior Support Worker
Full time (35hours)- Permanent
Various shift patterns available
£11 per hour (W/D). £11.50 per hour (W/E). £70.50 (SLEEP-IN)
I am looking for a well rounded Senior Support Worker, experienced in providing person-centered care and support to individuals with mild/complex learning disabilities and or autism. Providing both practical support and leadership to a small number of people whilst showing a good degree of autonomy, initiative, encouragement and responsibility across their position.
This role is essential to the wellbeing of the service users receiving support and to the team of people employed to support them.
Key responsibilities -

Ensuring your team have read and fully understand each person-centered care plan and working policy, ensuring the support provided reflects the wishes of the service user and these written documents
*
Manage service users finances in accordance with company policy
*
Encourage and empower each service user to make decisions and take control, unless this is clearly detrimental to their wellbeing
*
Support the development of your team, making training and additional courses that support this are a priority, ensuring cover is in place in order for staff to complete this
*
Ensuring all company policies are followed by yourself and your team
*
To ensure all communication is effective between staff members and also inclusive of the services users family and external professionals where needed
*
Assisting the Registered manager to create where necessary, individual Policies around the people we support and their team
*
Arranging rotas, ensuring that the team is adequately staffed and prepared to provide flexibility and cover any changes through sickness, holidays and training
*
Be involved in the recruitment of staff, focusing on person centered approaches
*
Leading the team in a way that motivates and recognises hard work
*
Provide Induction training to new staff, using company Induction programme.
*
Lead the team in reviewing its performance on an ongoing basis and to work with each team member to develop their individual skills and ambitions.
You will need to have-
*
A proven background within a care & support setting supporting individuals with LD and/or Autism
*
A calm, confident and passionate approach to person-centered support
*
Full UK driving license (preferred) - you will be travelling between settings to a degree
*
Diploma in Health and Social Care, or Equivalent (minimum level 2, willing to work towards level 3)
*
Some experience within a senior support position
