Lead the governance, management, and lifecycle control of spatial data supporting modelling and simulation (M&S) capabilities within ACTS
Develop, implement, and maintain the Spatial Data Management Plan (SDMP), ensuring compliance with MOD geospatial policies and standards
Manage the ingestion, cataloguing, validation, and discoverability of geospatial data within the ACTS Content Catalogue (ACC)
Ensure all spatial data is configuration managed with appropriate metadata, provenance, revision control, and traceability
Establish and maintain processes for spatial data acquisition, validation, integration, and lifecycle management in collaboration with the Specialist Geospatial Centres (SGCs)
Ensure all GEOINT and spatial datasets comply with relevant MOD and UK geospatial standards (e.g. JSP 465, Def Stan 00-102, MGMP2, GEMINI2)
Liaise with the MOD Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI), including the SDI Gatekeeper, Spatial Data Assurance Group (SDAG), and Defence Geospatial Management Board (DGMB)
Audit and validate spatial data holdings to ensure accuracy, currency, and operational relevance for training and simulation systems
Identify and manage Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) dependencies across systems and maintain the PNT Dependency Register
Provide spatial data expertise to design reviews, change control boards, and system integration activities
Establish effective working relationships with SGCs, MOD SDI stakeholders, and acquisition organisations to ensure efficient spatial data management

An engineering background, educated to degree level or with equivalent previous related experience
Demonstrable experience managing spatial data or geospatial intelligence within complex technical or operational environments
Strong understanding of spatial data lifecycle management including acquisition, cataloguing, validation, metadata management, and governance
Experience implementing geospatial metadata standards and maintaining spatial data catalogues or repositories
Knowledge of MOD or UK geospatial data standards and frameworks (e.g. JSP 465, Def Stan 00-102, MGMP2, GEMINI2)
Experience working within spatial data infrastructure environments or geospatial governance frameworks
Understanding of spatial data provenance, traceability, and configuration management principles
Experience implementing spatial data quality assurance, audit, and compliance processes
Knowledge of Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) dependencies within geospatial or simulation systems
Experience using geospatial information systems (e.g. ArcGIS or equivalent GIS platforms)
Understanding of geospatial data formats, coordinate reference systems, and spatial data processing techniques
Experience integrating spatial data into modelling, simulation, or analytical environments
Ability to develop policies, procedures, and documentation related to spatial data governance and management.
