Minerva Recruitment is proud to partner with our client to recruit an experienced Chef for their Care Home in Norwich.

About the Role:
As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing daily nutritious meals for the residents, ensuring the food you prepare is fresh, visually appealing, and within budget. You will maintain health and safety standards and deliver high-quality service in the kitchen. Additionally, the role involves leading a small team to ensure continuity and high standards are met.

Reports to: Home Manager

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Plan and prepare daily menus that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of residents.
Prepare meals that are appetising, visually appealing, and within budget.
Monitor and manage food stocks, placing orders as needed.
Maintain accurate records of food orders and inventory.
Ensure all food is stored, prepared, and served in a safe and hygienic manner.
Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation and service.
Implement and maintain health and safety procedures, including proper food handling and storage.
Ensure the kitchen is clean and organised, including regular deep cleaning.
Attend staff meetings and training as required.
Build positive relationships with residents and respond promptly to their feedback.Skills & Attributes:

Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
Knowledge of nutrition and ability to develop menus that meet dietary requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and work efficiently under pressure.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.Education & Qualifications:

Food Hygiene Certified - Level 2 (willing to work towards Intermediate Food Hygiene qualifications).
First Aid Certified.
NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering.Benefits:
