About the Role

We are looking for a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our warm and supportive specialist school community. Our pupils have a wide range of needs, including autism, complex learning difficulties, communication needs, sensory processing differences, and social, emotional and mental health needs.

You will play a vital role in helping create a nurturing, structured and engaging learning environment where every young person is valued and supported to achieve their full potential.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to pupils' individual needs

  • Assisting with personalised learning plans, communication strategies and sensory support

  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour routines

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families

  • Helping create a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment for all learners

What We're Looking For
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (special school experience is an advantage, but not essential)

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs flourish

  • Willingness to undertake training in areas such as autism, communication strategies, and sensory support
