Assistant Technical Manager - Food Manufacturing (Kent)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing food manufacturing business based in Kent. They are seeking an Assistant Technical Manager to oversee the technical function at site level.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of a technical role while being supported by an experienced Group Technical Manager. The business is known for its innovative approach and quality products, supplying into a diverse customer base across the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage all technical and quality aspects of the site, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations.

* Maintain and continuously improve food safety and quality systems, with a focus on BRC Global Standard compliance.

* Act as the primary contact on site for all technical matters, audits, and customer visits.

* Work closely with production and operations to ensure best practices and a culture of continuous improvement.

About You:

* You'll have prior technical experience in a UK food manufacturing environment.

* Strong knowledge of BRC standards and previous exposure to audits is essential.

* Comfortable working as the sole technical representative on site, with remote support from the wider technical team.

* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and confident in decision-making.
