Our client is a leading decorating contractor with a strong reputation for quality and service. With a turnover of £15 million per annum, we are expanding our services to include in-house passive fire protection solutions. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team and lead this new division.
Job Summary:
As the Estimator & Passive Fire Protection Divisional Manager, you will initially join our estimating department, familiarizing yourself with our systems and processes while carrying out estimates for passive fire protection projects. You will be responsible for accurately pricing projects and managing their execution, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
With the aim of bringing passive fire protection services in-house, you will play a crucial role in transitioning from subcontracting to internal management. This role will evolve into a project and contract management position as we win more passive fire protection contracts, allowing you to lead your own division within the company.
Responsibilities:
1. Conducting accurate estimates for painting and passive fire protection projects.
2. Collaborating with the estimating team to train on pricing strategies for passive fire protection.
3. Managing the execution of passive fire protection works, ensuring quality and efficiency.
4. Developing and implementing project management processes specific to passive fire protection projects.
5. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
6. Ensuring compliance with contract requirements, including JCT/NEC submissions.
7. Monitoring project costs and identifying opportunities for cost efficiency.
8. Leading and coordinating with multiple departments to achieve project goals.
9. Contributing to the growth and success of the passive fire protection division within the company.
10. Providing excellent customer service and representing the company professionally.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in an Estimator/Tender delivery position, preferably within the construction or related industry.
2. Experience in pricing for long-term service contracts, particularly in passive fire protection or similar fields.
3. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand and optimize project costs.
4. Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills.
5. Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office packages.
6. Familiarity with JCT/NEC contract submissions and procedures.
7. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
8. A team player who can collaborate effectively with multiple departments.
9. Motivated, proactive, and eager to take on new challenges.
10. Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the evolving needs of the role and the company.
