About the Company
This company has been at the forefront of precision engineering since 1940. Headquartered in Stalybridge, near Manchester, they specialise in the design and manufacture of bespoke components to blue-chip clients across the globe with specialist equipment including valves, pumps, high-pressure blocks and much more.

They have a fantastic, tight-knit team of who deliver the quality and capability you'd expect from a much larger business. Their operation is lean, but well-equipped—with tri-axis CMMs and advanced inspection tools—and they're ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Being part of a much larger group brings added reach and capability to them from both a customer and supplier angle. Backed by strong financials and experienced leadership, they're growing—and I'm looking for the right person to grow with them.

The Role
This isn't just a support role—it's central to how the business operates.

As Production Engineer/Team Leader, you'll have real ownership over manufacturing performance. You'll work across all areas of the business: from the shop floor to suppliers, design to dispatch. There's a high level of autonomy, with the freedom to spot issues and implement improvements that make a direct impact on lead times, quality, and costs.

You'll be managing a varied workload—overseeing machining jobs, working with external suppliers, introducing new components, and fine-tuning production processes. Your ideas and actions will influence both daily operations and long-term success.

This is a great role if you enjoy getting stuck in, taking responsibility, and being part of a business where your work genuinely matters.

What You'll Need

* Proven experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role.

* Practical problem-solving mindset—able to work with suppliers and internal teams.

* CAD literacy is a plus - Jigs & fixtures design.

* BTEC ONC / HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.

What You'll Get

* £40,000 - £45,000 salary, depending on experience.

* Real autonomy and responsibility from day one.

* Collaborative, no-nonsense team culture.

* Career progression opportunities as the company grows.

* A chance to shape production processes and make a visible impact.
