I'm working on behalf of a reputable and forward-thinking construction contractor to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of multiple projects across various sectors, with responsibility for overseeing all aspects of performance — from programme and cost control to team leadership and client management.

About the Role

Reporting into the Operations Manager, you'll take ownership of the overall delivery and performance of several projects, working closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers, Design Teams, and Site Leaders. Your role will be to ensure the safe, timely, and high-quality execution of works, while maintaining client satisfaction and commercial control.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure the delivery of all allocated projects to time, cost, and quality targets

*

Produce and manage Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans in line with regulatory and company standards

*

Conduct regular site visits to monitor health & safety, quality, and compliance

*

Lead or participate in pre-start, design, and progress meetings

*

Coordinate resources and scheduling across multiple sites

*

Work closely with Commercial Managers to prepare and lead monthly CVR meetings

*

Chair subcontractor pre-let and coordination meetings

*

Maintain accurate project records and ensure timely RFI responses

*

Ensure all statutory, planning, and building control conditions are met

*

Collaborate with the Design Team on development and D&B delivery

*

Compile and maintain Project Execution Plans (PEPs) in line with project scope

*

Support procurement planning and programme control

People & Team Leadership

*

Manage and mentor Project Managers, Site Managers, and wider site teams

*

Ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and expectations across your teams

*

Champion health and safety at all levels of project delivery

*

Conduct regular one-to-ones and annual performance reviews

*

Identify training needs and support professional development

*

Address performance issues and employee relations fairly and consistently

*

Promote a collaborative, accountable, and respectful site culture

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced, self-motivated Contracts Manager who brings strong leadership, technical knowledge, and a passion for high-quality delivery. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator and effective problem-solver with a track record of successful project oversight.

Key Attributes & Skills:

Extensive experience in a Contracts or Senior Project Management role within construction

*

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

*

Sound commercial understanding and knowledge of various forms of contract

*

Familiar with health and safety legislation, CDM, and quality control practices

*

Experience with D&B contracts and working collaboratively with design teams

*

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

*

High levels of emotional intelligence, curiosity, and self-awareness

*

Ability to inspire and motivate teams at all levels

*

Comfortable with change, problem-solving, and decision-making in fast-paced environments
