Art and Food Technician - Term-Time Only

We are supporting a popular, oversubscribed girls' Catholic secondary school with a co-educational Sixth Form in Brentwood, Essex, who are looking to appoint an Art and Food Technician.

This is a term-time only role, ideal for someone practical, organised and keen to support students' learning in creative and food-based subjects.

Salary: £22,636 per annum (actual, term-time only) - LGPS (Fringe) 2025, Scale 4, Point 7

Contract: Term-time only, permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

*

Monday-Thursday: 8.00am-4.00pm

*

Friday: 8.00am-3.30pm

*

30-minute unpaid break each day

*

Occasional evening work may be required (e.g. Open Evenings)

Main responsibilities

* Support the smooth, day-to-day running of the Art and Food departments

* Prepare materials, ingredients and equipment for practical lessons

* Set up and clear away classroom and workshop activities

* Maintain and organise stock, equipment and storage areas

* Assist with cleaning and basic maintenance of tools, equipment and workspaces

* Promote and follow health and safety procedures at all times

* Provide practical and administrative support to teaching staff

* Support department events and displays of student work where required
