Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days per week on site
Contract Length: 12 months

The Role

We are seeking experienced Senior Process Engineers to support a strategically important programme within the UK nuclear sector.

This role will be supporting the technical development, assessment and delivery of process solutions associated with the handling, conversion, and potential reuse of reprocessed uranium originating from historic reprocessing operations.

You will play a key role in process definition, safety justification, and technical assurance across the fuel cycle, working within a highly regulated nuclear environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and deliver process engineering activities across RepU-related systems and facilities
Develop and review process flows, mass balances, PFDs and P&IDs
Provide technical input into safety cases, hazard studies (HAZOP/HAZID), and ALARP arguments
Support options studies for storage, conversion, enrichment or reuse of RepU materials
Interface with nuclear safety, operations, mechanical and commissioning teams
Ensure designs comply with UK nuclear regulatory requirements and site licence conditions
Contribute to design reviews, technical reports and regulatory submissions
Act as a senior technical authority and mentor junior engineers where required

Essential Experience

Proven experience as a Senior Process Engineer in the nuclear industry
Strong background in nuclear fuel cycle, reprocessing, waste or materials handling
Experience working in high-hazard, regulated environments
Familiarity with UK nuclear standards and safety case development
Ability to work on site and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
Active SC clearance (or clearable)

Desirable

Previous experience with Sellafield, fuel reprocessing or uranium conversion projects
Knowledge of RepU, MOX, enrichment or fuel fabrication processes
Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
