EDI Developer - Permanent - Basingstoke/Remote EDI Developer Essential:-
Perl; Python; Bash; MySQL; Linux (advantageous); EDIFACT; XML; TRADACOMMS; X12; SAP IDocs - ALE, SFTP, AS/2. Knowledge of or willingness to learn technical skills in Pathfinder; Web Services, (SOAP/REST). General knowledge of SAP or other ERP Systems & Service Desk tools would be advantageous.EDI Developer Key Responsibilities
As part of the EDI Team, the EDI Developer will need to contribute to several concurrent projects at any one time, ensuring that all Development solutions are delivered to the required standards & within the timeframes specified.
Based in Basingstoke but working remotely initially. This is an important new role within the IT department, giving the role holder the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the organisation. EDI Developer role will require:
Taking ownership of Development solutions allocated to you, from inception right through to delivery, maintenance & decommissioning. Solutions will need to be delivered on time & to the standards required.
Flagging any issues with your line manager at an early stage, ideally with your recommended approach to overcome the problem.
Developing high quality code for all solutions, as agreed with your manager.
Ensuring that the Development policies are followed at all time when putting together solutions, & also ensuring compliance with all other relevant law & company policy.
Familiarisation with existing code & platforms & then take ownership of them, applying the same standards to the effectiveness of these solutions as the ones you have personally developed.
Supporting the operation as required, performing bug fixes, enhancements etc & provide timely & good quality maintenance.
Being responsible for all phases of the software life cycle.
Managing your time & prioritise work to ensure that deadlines are met & all projects you are involved in are supported to the required standards.
From time to time you may be required to perform 24/7 support cover. EDI Developer Skills & Experience Required:
Proven ability to deliver, maintain & decommission Development solutions.
A structured approach that enables you to work on several solutions at any one time & prioritise work as appropriate.
The attention to detail needed to ensure that all solutions are effective, & also compliant with law/policy.
A Can Do' attitude with a track record of overcoming problems & finding solutions to issues as they crop up.
Proven technical skills in; Perl; Python; Bash; MySQL; Linux (advantageous); EDIFACT; XML; TRADACOMMS; X12; SAP IDocs - ALE, SFTP, AS/2.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn technical skills in Pathfinder; Web Services, (SOAP/REST).
Microsoft Office skills including: Office 365, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
General knowledge of SAP or other ERP Systems & Service Desk tools would be advantageous.
