We are seeking a dedicated Catering Manager to oversee a Primary Schools Catering facilities. The successful candidate will ensure the service meets the required standards and promotes lifelong healthy eating habits through the implementation of the school and SBC Healthy Eating Policies.
30 hours a week (8:30 - 13:30) term time only, paid over 12 months
This is a temporary to permanent role after 12 weeks
Main Duties:
- Lead and manage the catering service, including team supervision, premises, budget control, meal production, and service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
- Prepare, monitor, control, and report on the catering budget, managing income, expenditure, and productivity.
- Plan, order, and manage food supplies, ensuring nutritionally balanced meal preparation that meets national standards.
- Supervise and train catering staff, ensuring effective team performance and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and service areas.
- Manage health and safety requirements, including risk assessments and manual handling.
- Conduct quality audits and customer satisfaction surveys to continually improve service quality.
- Develop and implement promotional activities to enhance meal uptake and meet income targets.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ3 or equivalent in catering (Essential)
- Valid food hygiene certificate and advanced food hygiene certificate or working towards this (Essential)
- Proven experience in catering for #removed# covers in environments such as schools, care homes, or similar (Essential)
- Experience in leading catering teams (Desirable)
- Knowledge of financial procedures and producing management information for stakeholders (Desirable)
