Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people (classroom support, coaching, or youth work) is preferred.
  • Attributes: A patient, encouraging nature and the ability to explain tasks clearly.
  • Compliance: You must hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS check and have the right to work in the UK.

Key Duties:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students who need extra help with their work.
  • Work with small groups of pupils to keep them focused on the task.
  • Explain the teacher's instructions in a simpler way for students.
  • Help students with their reading, writing, or practical activities.
  • Help the teacher manage classroom behaviour and keep students on track.
  • Prepare learning materials and hand out equipment during lessons.
  • Monitor student progress and give feedback to the class teacher.
  • Support student's well-being and confidence within the school day.
  • Supervise students during break times and between lesson changes.
