Room Leader – Up to £33,000

 

Lead a team in a newly opened nursery that combines modern design with a homely, nurturing atmosphere. As Room Leader, you will take ownership of your room, guiding practitioners while ensuring children thrive through engaging indoor and outdoor learning experiences.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will balance high-quality care and education with team support, organisation, and strong partnership with parents.

 

Before You Apply

  • A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (minimum) is required.
  • Recent experience working in a nursery setting is essential.
  • Previous experience leading a room or supporting room management is highly desirable.

What You’ll Need

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5 or above desirable)
  • Strong working knowledge of EYFS and child development
  • Experience leading or mentoring practitioners
  • Confidence in managing ratios, safeguarding, and wellbeing standards
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive parent partnerships

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day running of your room
  • Plan and oversee age-appropriate learning activities in line with EYFS
  • Monitor, support, and mentor room staff
  • Track, assess, and review children’s development and progress
  • Maintain accurate observations and learning records
  • Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety standards are consistently met
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers
  • Contribute to wider nursery planning, meetings, and continuous improvement
