The Role;

* To ensure that the management of the Service Area is economic, effective and efficient, including the preparation, implementation and monitoring of a Service Area Plan; exercising budgetary control; and undertaking all aspects of good people management.

* To drive change both within the Service Area and across the Council by taking a lead role in the delivery of the Council's Corporate Strategy and major corporate programmes and initiatives; ensuring value for money and improvements to service delivery; maintaining high standards of conduct; benchmarking against other authorities; exploring opportunities to improve service delivery through joint working; and thereby contributing to the achievement of the Council's strategic objectives.
