Work Environment: Two-thirds office-based in Redditch, one-third site-based (sites within a 1.5-hour radius of Redditch)

My client is a leading provider of Groundworks and Civil Engineering services, delivering high-quality solutions to a diverse range of residential, commercial, and industrial clients.

We are looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor with extensive experience in residential groundworks to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a well-established company that delivers high-quality residential developments. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial success of groundworks projects and supporting the wider project team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and contracts for residential groundworks projects.

* Conduct site visits (one-third of the role) to assess progress, manage costs, and ensure that works are proceeding as planned.

* Liaise with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve issues and ensure smooth project delivery.

* Produce detailed cost reports and valuations for ongoing works.

* Provide advice on procurement, tendering, and contract matters.

* Negotiate and manage variations, claims, and change orders.

* Monitor project costs and provide proactive solutions to mitigate cost overruns.

Requirements:

* Extensive experience in quantity surveying with a focus on residential groundworks.

* Proven track record of managing costs on groundworks projects from inception to completion.

* Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and procurement.

* Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

* Proficient in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, CostX, etc.).

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Relevant qualifications (e.g., RICS, degree in Quantity Surveying or similar) are desirable but not essential.
