Job Title: Interim Senior Leader / SENCO - Summer Term

Contract: Agency / Temporary - Summer Term (3 days per week, full-time)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced senior leader with SENCO experience to join a special school supporting children from Year 5 to Year 11 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. This is a unique opportunity to provide targeted capacity and leadership support, with clearly defined responsibilities that make a real difference to the children in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide leadership and guidance across the school, supporting staff development.

* Oversee SEN provision and act as SENCO, ensuring statutory duties and SEND regulations are met.

* Work effectively with multi-agency partners, particularly managing admissions and placement changes with the local authority.

* Contribute as an active member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), arriving early on school days to support operational planning.

Essential Experience & Skills:

* Proven senior leadership experience in a school setting.

* SENCO qualification and experience.

* Strong understanding of SEND regulations, statutory duties, and guidance.

* Experience working with multi-agency partners and local authorities.

* Ability to lead, advise, and develop staff effectively.

* Knowledge of the local area is desirable but not essential.

Contract Details:

* Duration: Summer Term

* Hours: Ideally 3 days per week (full-time equivalent)

* Location: On-site in Bury St Edmunds
