Our Client is a leading Facilities Management company delivering soft services across a wide range of sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, and industrial environments. Known for our high standards and commitment to client satisfaction, we are now seeking a motivated and experienced Area Cleaning Manager to oversee cleaning operations across a major contract in the Edinburgh region.

The Role

As the Area Cleaning Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery, compliance, and quality of cleaning services across multiple high-profile sites. You will lead a large team of cleaning supervisors and operatives, ensuring service standards meet client expectations, health and safety regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage day-to-day cleaning operations across a portfolio of large facilities in Edinburgh

* Lead, coach, and support site-based cleaning teams, including supervisors and operatives

* Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure high standards of cleanliness and compliance

* Ensure health & safety, COSHH, and infection control procedures are strictly followed

* Build and maintain positive client relationships through professional communication and service delivery

* Recruit, train, and onboard new cleaning staff

* Manage rotas, absence, holidays, and payroll-related tasks in coordination with HR

* Control budgets, order cleaning supplies, and monitor stock levels across sites

* Respond to client requests and resolve any operational issues in a timely and professional manner

* Prepare reports, maintain documentation, and attend client and internal meetings as required

What We're Looking For

* Proven experience in a similar multi-site cleaning management role, ideally within a facilities management or large-scale contract environment

* Strong knowledge of health & safety, COSHH, and cleaning compliance standards

* Experience leading, motivating, and developing large teams

* Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills

* Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and reactive tasks

* Full UK driving licence (essential)

* IT literate - able to use Microsoft Office and reporting systems
