Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Humanitarian Leadership Programme Manager to join our team.
You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role.
In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £35-40k per annum.
NB: This role can be based anywhere in the UK, but once Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, there will be an expectation for the Humanitarian Leadership Programme Manager to attend regular meetings at our Head Office in Manchester.
We also have offices in London and ; Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.
As Humanitarian Leadership Programme Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in designing, developing and managing the Humanitarian Leadership Programme (HLP) at Human Appeal.
This is a structured programme for volunteers whereby they are provided with training to develop their fundraising skills ( presentation skills, event management) and insight about Human Appeal’s work ( our WASH projects and emergency relief efforts) in exchange for each volunteer’s commitment to raise funds for a specific project.
HLP will also reward all volunteer participants with the opportunity to travel abroad to visit the project that they have fundraised for and see the impact of their donations, thus inspiring their continued support.
The HLP Manager will be responsible for leading on all aspects of the project, including recruiting participants and ensuring the effective promotion and smooth operational running of the programme; all with a view to increasing and retaining volunteer support and maximising income for Human Appeal.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Humanitarian Leadership Programme Manager: - Developing, launching and leading the Humanitarian Leadership Programme (HLP) - Working closely with the wider Communications and Fund Development departments to ensure the effective promotion of HLP - Acting as the face of HLP, including stage, TV and radio promotion - Recruiting participants in-line with a target and ensuring the retention of participants throughout the full length of the programme for maximum support and commitment - Organising and coordinating all insight and training events online and face to face for HLP participants across the UK - Organising all reward and recognition activities for participants, including planning and running international field trips - Increasing the participation in, and therefore income raised by HLP year-on-year What we’re looking for in our Humanitarian Leadership Programme Manager: - Ideally degree educated, or qualified by experience - Minimum 3 years’ in people management - Experience working with, or knowledge of, the Muslim community in the UK - Significant previous experience of stage, radio and TV fundraising - Experience of fronting a project or campaign as a brand ambassador - Established network of volunteers nationally with a track record of fundraising significant amounts - Passionate and knowledge about the international development sector - Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office, Social Media and Donor Management systems - Fluent English is essential and knowledge of additional languages such as Arabic, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi would be an advantage This would be an ideal role for an experienced Humanitarian Leadership Programme Manager looking to make a difference in a rewarding role within the Charity Sector!
