Job Description

The Connections Therapy Center is the leading therapy practice in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area focused entirely on children and adolescents with special needs. We help our clients and their families with a full scope of therapy services, including behavior services, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, autism services and unique programs.


We are currently searching for a Practice Director to join the Connections Therapy Center team. The Practice Director will ensure that Connections Therapy Center remains financially sustainable while delivering excellent customer service. The Practice Director will make key business decisions, will oversee day-to-day practice operations and will work to expand the clinic to make it more profitable and better meet the needs of the local community.



  • Works with therapists to develop business strategies and patient services

  • Plays a key role in assembling proposals for new programs, services, and service delivery models

  • Sets attainable goals for billing and collections departments, ensures goals are achieved

  • Monitors A/R process, develops and executes collections strategies to ensure profitability and short A/R cycles

  • Designs and implements clinic procedures. Evaluates appointment procedures, management team and patient services

  • Liaises with Behavior Analysts, Occupational, Physical, Speech & Language Therapists, and other clinic employees to ensure they have necessary support

  • Manages clinic and department budgets and understands basic accounting principals

  • Oversees daily clinic operations, including appointment scheduling, billing procedures, debt collections, cleaning, security, and occupational health and safety

  • Leads a team made up of clinic secretaries, receptionists, and records staff

  • Manages practice management system, EMR system, and IT system

  • Oversees front desk operations and staffing including billing and insurance verification, registration and patient flow

  • Recruits, trains, and supervises new administrative employees

  • Recruits new patients by marketing CTC's therapeutic offerings, garnering referrals and creating and establishing relationships with other industry clinics, schools and doctors' offices

  • Interacts with patients and gains customer feedback about the clinic, addresses patient complaints in a compassionate and timely fashion

  • Enforces HIPPA and security policies, protocols and procedures

  • Establishes and monitors contracts and vendor relationships to ensure organization effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Networks and establishes relationships to drive revenue and profitability of CTC while branding the clinic to gain more visibility.

  • Manages the production of patient brochures, newsletters, and other correspondence

  • Provides accurate reports for corporate meetings and prioritizes important information to share



  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Management, Healthcare Administration, Public Health or Business Administration

  • 3-5 years of experience managing a small healthcare clinic or practice

  • 5-7 years of overall practice/clinic management experience

  • Familiarity with EMR systems and other clinic business related software systems

  • An outgoing personality with the ability to build quick, strong, win-win relationships

  • A conceptual thinker with strong analytic skills

  • A sales-oriented leader

  • A strong interpersonal communicator

  • A resourceful multi-tasker driven by goals, accountability, and deadlines

  • Bachelor's degree required
