As Senior Building Surveyor, you'll be the go-to expert for all building surveying and repair activities in your area. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional repair services, driving value, and ensuring homes remain compliant, habitable, and resident-focused. You'll also lead on a vital aids and adaptations programme, helping vulnerable residents live more comfortably and independently.
What You'll Be Doing -
Own and manage surveying activity on your patch - from inspection to completion

Oversee contractors and multiple trade teams, ensuring works are delivered on time, to budget, and to a high standard

Carry out detailed inspections, diagnose defects, and specify corrective works

Prepare technical reports, drawings, feasibility studies, and cost estimates

Lead the delivery of aids & adaptations projects, working closely with local authority partners and managing Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) applications

Ensure legal compliance, risk mitigation, and high levels of health & safety across works

Provide expert advice to internal teams across compliance, investment, and repairs and represent the organisation in legal proceedings and complex repair cases when needed
What You'll Bring -
HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant construction or surveying discipline and a minimum of 5 years' experience in building surveying, ideally in social housing

Strong expertise in diagnostics, contract management, and housing disrepair

Financial acumen - confident managing budgets, forecasting, and contractor payments

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, housing/asset systems (e.g., Northgate, Keystone), data analysis and a proactive, resident-focused approach with strong communication and influencing skills
