Our client is searching for a Production Planner for their Gates, NY location.

The Production Planner uses their knowledge of supply chain and distribution management to improve the production and distribution process.

  • Ensure the availability of materials, components, and products for planned production and for customer delivery.
  • Maintain the lowest possible level of inventory while meeting production schedule without delay.
  • Plan manufacturing activities, delivery schedules, and purchasing activities.

Coordinates and monitors the work flow of materials and products to Technical Operations department for production; reviews production schedule and work orders, establishes priorities for specific customer orders, and revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities and completion date; availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment. Must have complete working knowledge of all facets of MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) and of the production process with a minimal understanding of technical applications. Ensures that inventory/materials are readily available in house as needed for production.

Work Experience Requirements:

Four or more years' experience in Materials Requirements Planning in a manufacturing / technical role where planning and expediting competencies are established, utilized and adhered to. Purchasing / Buying background is helpful. Excellent Verbal and Written communication with emphasis on following process is essential. Ability to be customer facing as needed.
